I don't know about you, but I really cannot stand that one where those two slightly chubby children with their northern accents try and behave like adults. It's supposed to make you want to buy a car or something. It actually makes me want to buy a hammer with which to smash in my TV screen.
Now, before you go thinking that I'm the kind of person who is prejudiced against chubbiness, or who is prejudiced against northern accents, or who is prejudiced against children in general, please give me the opportunity to explain myself. I have no problem with any of that. I dislike this advert for none of those reasons. The thing I loathe is the patronising manner in which the main characters speak.
Yes, I do realise that is sort of the point. The 'role reversal' theme requires the children to behave like adults, and vice versa. However, if two adults were to discuss their children using condescending phrases like "too many fizzy drinks", or "lovely to see them playing so well together" I'd be feeling immense anger when faced with such smug superiority. So putting those belittling words into the mouths of child actors, as though behaving in such a way is actually the pinnacle of maturity, well, that's just plain wrong.
After all that, I think I might have a little kip.
In Deal or No Deal today, the Banker seemed to arbitrarily decide that he was scared of the player, a young woman by the name of Alicia. Maybe he was right to be scared, because she played a shrewd game and ended up winning £27,100.
(By the way, thanks to everybody who has commented on any of my recent posts. If I haven't responded it's not because I don't appreciate your contributions; it's merely because I'm being a bit rubbish at conversation. Sorry. I'll try harder in future.)

I’m with Charlie Brooker on this one, Nadine Bagot, the Spanish bloke selling holidays and dickhead Mickey and his hairdo’s; cocks the lot of them. (or was it a rhetorical question?)

Why can't they show that Charlie Brooker programme on BBC2, eh? I feel like my terrestrial-only TV is missing out.

You are so right about the two irritating t***s on that ad. I've mentioned it to others locally (NW UK). They find it so 'cute'. (Gags and rolfs from me!)Think I'll remain happy as minority if this represents a consensus on UK culture and subculture.
No change there then!!
All the best,
Anita

Sorry to hear about your mother. I know that my dad found it much tougher than I did when my grandmother (his mum) died last year. Sorting out her flat and finally getting it sold put a line under it all though.
I hope you'll stick around for a while!
